Fuel Moisture III

posted Jul 6, 2014, 4:37 PM by Joe Christy
Let's not forget the one hour fuels - the dry grasses. You should definitely
have it trimmed to 4" or less within 30' of your house and 14" or less out to 100'. Random sparks are start fires in dry grass just as easily as Scouts with flint. Dry grass combined with dead brush on the ground is a recipe for kindling a potentially disastrous wildland fire.
