Workshop & Work Day at Bonny Doon School 9am to Noon, Saturday, August 24

Post date: Aug 3, 2019 9:13:57 PM

Please join the Bonny Doon Fire Safe Council, Principal Mike Heffner, and the parents of Bonny Doon School for a workshop on Wildfire Preparedness and a morning working to reduce the risk of wildfire at the school.

We will assemble in the lower parking lot off of Pine Flat Road at 9am for a half hour conversation about wildfire preparedness - at the School by Mike Heffner and in Bonny Doon by Joe Christy.

Afterwards, we will fan out and work around the school grounds, pulling broom and lopping brush until noon. Wear a long sleeve shirt & pants, boots, gloves, and hat. Bring water to stay hydrated. If you have hand tools such as weed pullers, digging bars, or loppers, please bring one or two. No power tools - we don't want to risk anyone getting hurt.

If you own a truck that can haul brush and some rope & a big tarp to hold the brush in on the road - and you are willing to donate one trip to the dump with a load of brush - please bring these as well. We're not sure how many loads there will be, but the more we haul away, the safer our school will be. Thank you, Bonny Doon!
