July Public Hearings on Proposed Burn Permit Fees, Comments Sought

This evening I got an email from the Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District [MBUAPCD] asking for feedback on a proposal to charge cost-recovery fees for burn permits. The details are in the attached letter.

In a nutshell, they are proposing a $40 fee for a new backyard burn permit & $20 for a renewal.

There will be public hearings:

Tuesday, July 15, Watsonville Library, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Wednesday, July 16, Air District Office, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Tuesday, July 22, San Benito County Bldg, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
